During a recent trip to Universal Studios, I discovered that Cocina Mexicana, a Mexican restaurant in the Upper Lot, has vegan beyond chorizo available as a menu option! I liked that the restaurant had Beyond Chorizo clearly marked as a vegan option and a little known fact is that their "sour cream" is also vegan. I was pleasantly surprised to see vegan options that were clearly marked on the menu with a logo. Below are photos of the menus with Beyond Chorizo highlighted each time.
The cost for the taco salad and nachos are regularly $14.99 however, there is a $1.00 extra charge for adding Beyond Chorizo. Once our food was ready, I dug into my vegan taco salad while hubby enjoyed his Beyond Chorizo nachos. The Beyond Chorizo taco salad contains lettuce, cabbage, black beans, pico de gallo, and Beyond Chorizo. The taco salad was flavorful but a bit spicy for my taste. Hubby's Beyond Nachos were topped with lettuce, pico de gallo, vegan sour cream, and a large helping of Beyond Chorizo. Although he enjoyed the nachos he said he would've liked if they added olives and more Beyond meat since he had some chips left after eating his meal.
I look forward to finding a highlighting more vegan meals through this blog as well as the Vegan At Universal Studios CA Instagram page found by clicking the title underlined in blue.
