While recently at Universal Studios, I visited Mel's Diner located in the Upper Lot to try their vegan burger which is called the Beyond BBQ Cheeseburger. The restaurant is a quick service restaurant so you stand in line, place your order with an employee, then wait for your order to be called. I did like that the vegan option was clearly labeled on their menu.

The Beyond BBQ Cheesebuger consists of a beyond meat patty, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and veganaise on a vegan whole wheat bun for $14.49. I liked that the burger comes with crinkle cut fries but would have also liked an option for a fruit cup.

The burger patty was bigger than I expected which was a pleasant surprise. The vegan cheese was okay but not really memorable. I was annoyed by how quickly the whole wheat bun fell apart under the weight of the big burger patty. Having said this, the Beyond BBQ Cheeseburger it was a decent meal option to have while inside the park.
