While recently at Universal Studios, I visited Mel's Diner located in the Upper Lot to try their vegan burger which is called the Beyond BBQ Cheeseburger. The restaurant is a quick service restaurant so you stand in line, place your order with an employee, then wait for your order to be called. I did like that the vegan option was clearly labeled on their menu. I liked that the burger comes with crinkle cut fries but would have also liked an option for a fruit cup. During a recent trip to Universal Studios, I discovered that Cocina Mexicana, a Mexican restaurant in the Upper Lot, has vegan beyond chorizo available as a menu option! I liked that the restaurant had Beyond Chorizo clearly marked as a vegan option and a little known fact is that their "sour cream" is also vegan. I was pleasantly surprised to see vegan options that were clearly marked on the menu with a logo. Below are photos of the menus with Beyond Chorizo highlighted each time. The cost for the taco salad and nachos are regularly $14.99 however, there is a $1.00 extra charge for adding Beyond Chorizo.
